MailFrontier to Testify at Email Authentication Summit Sponsored by the Federal Trade Commission and U.S. Department of Commerce
Palo Alto, Calif. – November 3, 2004 – MailFrontier™,
a pioneer in email security and leading provider of anti-spam
and anti-phishing solutions, today announced that Pavni Diwanji,
chairman and founder of MailFrontier will deliver testimony
at the Email Authentication Summit. The Summit is hosted
by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Department of
Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology
and is being held November 9-10, 2004 in Washington, D.C. Diwanji
was selected to deliver MailFrontier’s testimony as part
of a panel entitled “Email Authentication: How Spammers
Circumvent Authentication Methods,” scheduled for November
10, 2004, 8:45a.m.–10:15 a.m.
The Summit follows the FTC’s June 15, 2004 National Do Not
Email Registry Report to Congress. In that report, the FTC identified
domain-level authentication as a promising technological development
that would enable Internet Service Providers and other domain holders
to better filter spam, and that would provide law enforcement with
a potent tool for locating and identifying spammers.
“As email authentication standards start to come together,
we believe that understanding the benefits and limitations of email
authentication is critical,” said Diwanji. “We
applaud the effort that the FTC in putting behind this two-day Summit
and I am pleased to have been selected as one of only a few email
security vendor speakers for this critical gathering of the public
and private sectors.”
Diwanji has most recently testified before the California State
Senate on the topic of email security, in addition to providing expertise
to the Government Accounting Office.
