MailFrontier
Builds Out Management Team with Appointment of Two Industry Veterans to
Executive Positions
Company Poised for Growth
Palo Alto, Calif., January 22, 2004 – MailFrontier,
a pioneer in messaging security and leading provider of anti-spam solutions,
today announced two key additions to the company’s executive team.
Roger Friedberger, former Chief Financial Officer of ILOG (NASDAQ: ILOG),
has been named Chief Financial Officer, and Anne Bonaparte has been appointed
Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. Friedberger
and Bonaparte join Patricia Zullo, previously with RLX Technologies, who
joined MailFrontier as Vice President of Sales late last year, and co-founders
Pavni Diwanji, CEO, and Brian Wilson, CTO. “We have built
market-leading products and established a strong presence among enterprise
customers,” said Pavni Diwanji, CEO of MailFrontier. “Patti’s
contributions to our sales and channel development efforts have already
had a significant impact. With the addition of Roger and Anne, we have
the management team expertise and experience in place to grow the company
into an industry-leading enterprise software company.”
“The anti-spam market is extremely crowded and noisy,” added
Stewart Alsop, General Partner at New Enterprise Associates and a member
of MailFrontier’s Board of Directors. “With these two additions,
Pavni has done an outstanding job of building a leadership team that can
drive the market in new directions.”
Friedberger comes to MailFrontier with over 30 years international accounting
and corporate finance experience, including 20 years in the software industry.
As CFO at ILOG, a leading provider of enterprise-class software components
and services, Friedberger was responsible for the company’s global
finance and legal operations. Previously, he was CFO at both Insignia
Solutions and Micro Focus. Friedberger led IPOs and/or international market
listings for all three companies. His career began with Price Waterhouse
in London and San Jose, Calif. Friedberger graduated from the University
of Leeds, England, with a bachelor of commerce degree in accounting and
law.
Bonaparte joins MailFrontier from VeriSign, the leading provider of critical
infrastructure services for the Internet and telecommunications networks,
where as Vice President, International, she restructured the company’s
international operations and positioned the company for international
growth during a tumultuous economy. Previously, Bonaparte founded Buzzsaw,
Inc., and built the company to a market leadership position in less than
two years before selling it to Autodesk. She has launched market-leading
products at Autodesk and Hewlett-Packard, and led management consulting
projects at Bain & Company. Bonaparte holds a bachelor’s degree
in industrial engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from Harvard
University. About MailFrontier
