MailFrontier Archiving Module
With MailFrontier Archiving module, archive settings are automatically added
to the MailFrontier Gateway easy-to-use, Web-based administrative interface.
In the Policy and Compliance section of the interface, on one screen administrators
can select
- What email to store
- Where to archive the emails
- How long the emails should be retained
Administrators can select whether to archive all inbound emails or just the
non-threat emails that are delivered to users’ inboxes. Then administrators
can select where the archived emails are to be stored. This can be on the MailFrontier
Gateway or to a separate storage device. The last option under Archive Settings
is how long the emails should be archived. The administrator can set the retention
period and at the end of this period the archived emails are automatically
purged.
Once emails are archived, they can be easily accessed through the Auditing
section of the administrative interface. Administrators use the same simple
search functions as they would to find an email for auditing purposes. However,
with the MailFrontier Archiving module, in addition to the auditing information,
administrators can search, view, and retrieve the email.

is added as a policy enforcement action in MailFrontier Gateway’s robust
policy management and MailFrontier Compliance module settings. As a policy
enforcement action, AXS-One archiving can be used to archive only emails that
meet specified policy criteria. Archiving as a policy action ensures only messages
that need to be archived are stored, saving customers resources and costs.
