Getting Started


Once the installation of MailFrontier Desktop is complete you can start Outlook or Outlook Express.  This will start MailFrontier Desktop and it will begin processing your email.  There are three visual signs to recognize that MailFrontier Desktop is operational and processing your email for spam and phishing fraud.

  • System Tray:  There will be a  showing on your desktop system tray.
  • Outlook/Outlook Express Toolbar: The “Junk”, “Unjunk”, and “MailFrontier Options” buttons will appear on the Outlook/Outlook Express toolbar.
  • Splash Screen:  The MailFrontier Desktop “splash screen” will display.  This screen is active while MailFrontier Desktop processes your newly arrived email.

MailFrontier Folders
Another indication that MailFrontier Desktop has been installed correctly and is working is the creation of three folders in the folder list of Outlook/Outlook Express

  • MailFrontier Challenged Mail
  • MailFrontier Junk Mail
  • MailFrontier Phishing Mail

Processing Email
From now on MailFrontier Desktop will automatically start each time you open Outlook/Outlook Express.  It will evaluate each piece of email as it is received.  A “Good” email message goes to your “Inbox” and a “Bad” email message goes to one of the three MailFrontier folders.  This process continues until all of the newly arrived email has been evaluated.
