| MailFrontier was a pioneer in the use of combining
multiple spam detection techniques into a single solution to
keep your inbox free from junk email. The use of multiple
techniques allows the MailFrontier Desktop system to remain effective
at blocking spam even as spammer’s use new and creative
ways to subvert anti-spam systems.
Judging Email
"Good” email consists of messages that you desire to receive. These
messages can be from friends and family as well as groups and
companies. Good email can range from a one line message
to a newsletter. It can be a forwarded message, a reply,
or contain pictures and links to web sites.
MailFrontier Desktop develops a profile that is unique to you
of the email you want to receive. Email that fits this
profile gets a “free pass” and is delivered to your
inbox. Email that does not get a free pass is examined
by the MailFrontier Desktop email protection engine to judge
whether it is good or junk.
Junk and Unjunk
The “Junk” and “Unjunk” buttons
are helpful in tailoring MailFrontier Desktop to your email likes
and dislikes. They work as follows:
The Junk Button:
- Moves the message from your inbox to the MailFrontier Junk
Mail folder.
- Adds the sender to your “Blocked” sender list.
The Unjunk Button:
- Moves the message from the MailFrontier Junk Mail folder
to your inbox.
- Adds the sender to your “Allowed” sender list.
