MailFrontier Desktop automatically starts and
operates when you open Outlook or Outlook Express. The “MailFrontier
Options” menu contains some capabilities that you may find
helpful as part of using MailFrontier Desktop.
Configuration Preferences
This option leads to the Configuration Preferences panel which
is covered later in this Tutorial.
Registration Options
This option lets you check to ensure
your copy of MailFrontier Desktop is properly licensed. For “Trial” users
this will tell you the software is not licensed by showing Buy
Now menu option instead of Registration Options.
Allow and Block Options
These options are a quick and easy
way for you to update your allowed and blocked lists. Allowed/Blocked
lists are covered in detail later in this Tutorial.
Populate Allowed List
This option is usually most useful
at set-up time. When
you first set-up MailFrontier Desktop we populate your “allowed” list
with people in your “Sent Items” email folder. The
Populate Allowed List option lets you add the email addresses from
your default contacts folder to your allowed list.
Scan Selected Folder
This comes in handy when you need to rescan
your default inbox for junk or phishing email. You can also scan other folders
and sub-folders within your folder list. First, click on
the folder that you would like to scan in your folder list so it
is highlighted. Then select the “Scan Selected Folder” option.
Reporting Junk and Phishing Email
These options allow you
to report (send to MailFrontier) junk or phishing email. We use these email messages for research
purposes to ensure our spam and phishing filters are working to
their maximum capability. To use either of these options,
you just highlight the message and select either “Report
Junk Mail” or “Report Phishing Email” as desired.
Check for Update
With one click you can determine if there is a new version of
MailFrontier Desktop available.
