| MailFrontier Desktop begins blocking spam and
phishing email as soon as it is installed. Yet, some customers
want to be more aggressive in keeping spam out of their inbox. The “Configuration
Preferences” panel in MailFrontier Desktop let’s
you choose how aggressive or passive you wish to be.
Collaborative Filter
The collaborative filter utilizes
world-wide input from the MailFrontier SMART Network to help
fight spam. This network
is especially critical when a new spam attack starts. Setting
the collaborative filter to “Block More” makes MailFrontier
Desktop more sensitive to detecting such new attacks. Using
the “Block Less” setting decreases the responsiveness
to such external input.
Message Filters
Here you can set the aggressiveness of
blocking messages based on the content of the message. The “Aggressiveness” slider
sets the aggressiveness of evaluating the content of all email. In
addition, for the five content types listed (Sexual Content,
Offensive Language, etc.) you can enhance the default capability
by moving the specific slider. For example, you may want
to receive email from on-line casinos, so you would set the Gambling
slider to “Block Less”, yet you want to receive no
email from pornographic sites so you would move the “Sexual
Content” slider to “Block More”.
Foreign Language Filters
The foreign language filter allows you to block from your inbox
all of the email you might receive in a specific language, for
example Russian, Chinese, or Cyrillic.
