MailFrontier Desktop maintains Allowed/Blocked lists for People,
Companies, or Mailing Lists.
How Allowed and Blocked lists work
The “Allowed” list should contain only those
people, companies, and mailing list entries that you always want
to receive email from. When an email is received where the “From:” field
matches an entry on one of the Allowed lists it gets a “Free
Pass” and that email goes to your inbox.
The “Blocked” list does just the opposite. When
an email is received where the “From:” field matches
an entry on one of the Blocked lists it goes to the MailFrontier
Junk Mail folder.
People Allowed and Blocked lists
MailFrontier Desktop will automatically build and update
the People Allowed and Blocked lists. You can also edit these
lists. When you send an email to someone their email address
is added to your People Allowed list. The same thing happens
when you “Unjunk” an email. If you “Junk” an
email the email address of the sender is placed in your People
Blocked list.
Company Allowed and Blocked lists
These lists are only updated by you by adding the domain
name (mailfrontier.com for example) to the appropriate list.
An email which arrives where the “From:” domain name
is listed on the Companies Allowed list will get a free pass
and goes to your inbox. An email which arrives where the “From:” domain
is listed on the Companies Blocked list goes to the MailFrontier
Junk Mail folder. It is important to understand that when using
Company Allowed/Blocked lists that all email addresses from the
domain listed will be allowed or blocked accordingly.
Mailing List Allowed list
This list is only updated by you. Any email addresses added to
this list will mean that email which has the “From:” or
the “To:” field on this list will get a free pass and
be delivered to your inbox.
